Before Make Your Mark Agency, I was a police officer, an MMA fighter, a British Sign Language interpreter, a voice-over artist, a hairdresser, a campaign manager for the Liberal Democrats, and an award-winning author. Every step of my journey taught me how to fight for visibility, how to use my voice, and how to build something that lasts.
Now, I use all of that experience to help entrepreneurs, coaches, and leaders stop blending in and start building podcasts that get them seen, heard, and paid.
Outside of business, I live with my mum and my younger brother. I’m also a parent carer for my mum, who has rheumatoid arthritis. Family means everything to me, and balancing being a carer with running a global agency has shaped the way I work: with empathy, determination, and an unwavering belief that no challenge is too big to overcome.
When I first stepped into the podcasting world, I started with guesting. And let me tell you — it wasn’t glamorous.
In the beginning, I couldn’t get booked on any podcasts. I wasn’t getting no’s or rejections… I wasn’t getting replies at all. Just tumbleweed.
So I put my head down, spent three months strategising, and everything shifted. I landed 100 podcast interviews in 60 days. That’s the exact same strategy I now teach my clients so they can get booked too.
But then something unexpected happened. The very hosts interviewing me started asking:
“What’s the name of your podcast?”
I didn’t have one. So I created one. And I did it in just a few weeks.
